To choose an AI prospecting tool for B2B in France, start from the work you want to delegate. Finding contact details, spotting interest, writing, sending and following a conversation are different tasks. Compare the features that are actually available, the quality of the messages in French, how data is handled and the full cost. Then test what you will still have to do yourself.

A price-based comparison can leave you torn between products that do not cover the same work. A contact database helps you build a list. A sending tool organizes a campaign. An agent can take on several steps, with different levels of autonomy.

This guide builds on our general guide to choosing an AI prospecting tool, with the checks that matter when you prospect in French and handle contact data in France.

For a company prospecting in France, two checks come on top: messages have to fit the French your contacts actually use, and the use of data has to follow the rules that apply to the channel you pick.

Which features should you compare before choosing a tool?

Start by separating research, personalization, sending and follow-up. The grid below sets out five feature families to organize your choice. A single piece of software can cover several of them; its category name is not enough to know what you are handing over to it.

1. Contact data

Find or complete professional contact details. Check where the data comes from, how fresh it is, the credits it uses up and the export options. A contact address you found proves neither that the prospect is relevant nor that they are interested.

2. Sending and follow-ups

Schedule outreach over time. Look at who builds the list, who writes the messages and how the sequence stops after a reply or an objection.

3. Interest signals

Spot an interaction related to your offer. A comment, a like or a follow can help you pick the moment to reach out. It does not prove the person wants to buy.

4. Prospecting agent

Hand several steps to a single system. Ask for a demo of how prospects are chosen, how the message is prepared and how follow-up works. Check which actions run automatically, which ones need your approval and how to pause the agent.

5. Sales follow-up

Keep the context after the first reply. Check where conversations land, who takes over and how the contact makes it into your calendar or your client tracking tool.

You can then put your need into one sentence: "I want to delegate finding people interested in my topic and preparing the first message; I keep the sales conversations." That sentence gives you a sharper test than a feature list.

What should you check for email prospecting in France?

For B2B email, the CNIL (France's data protection authority) states that legitimate interest can be a legal basis when the message relates to the recipient's profession. You also have to inform the person and let them object to prospecting simply and free of charge. Each message has to identify the organization sending it and let the recipient refuse the next ones.

If you use contact details obtained from a third party, check that the person was informed of this use and can object to it. Software does not exempt you from these checks.

How do you judge the quality of messages in French?

Read messages prepared for a few relevant professional profiles before you choose. Check the tone, but also what the AI claims: a fluent sentence can attribute to a prospect a problem they never expressed.

A first name and a job title are not enough to personalize the substance. The message has to connect a real piece of information from the profile to your offer, without inventing closeness, a pain point or a past exchange. The choice between the informal "tu" and the formal "vous", and the vocabulary, also have to match the way you work.

A good test is to ask for a specific edit: shorten the intro, remove an assumption or change the tone. Then see whether the result keeps the useful information. That shows you how much rework the tool leaves you with.

Which choice fits the way your team is organized?

Who does what matters more than headcount. Identify the person who checks prospects, the one who reads replies and the one who runs the sales conversations. The tool has to fit into that split.

If you prospect on your own, look at the number of manual steps between discovering a prospect and replying to their message. Several small subscriptions can take a lot of coordination.

If someone already runs prospecting, a specialized tool can meet a precise need. Check that it exchanges data properly with the rest of your organization.

If several people share prospects, test access rights, how conversations are assigned and the visibility on actions already taken. A team has to be able to avoid contacting the same person twice without knowing it.

How do you compare the real budget?

Add up the subscription, the add-ons, the extra accounts, any setup fees and the time spent on follow-up. Then compare those costs for the same work handed to the tool. A per-user price and a per-credit price do not read the same way.

At Formula, the Launch plan is listed at $107 a month on the English pricing page (€97 a month on the French one), after a free 3-day trial. The French pricing page, viewed on September 28, 2026, describes the entry plan for LinkedIn. It still lists multichannel email and swipe approval in the mobile app as upcoming features: do not count them as already included and available.

Also note your supervision time during the trial. A lower bill can leave more work to your team; a higher subscription does not guarantee more sales. The outcome will also depend on your offer, your prospects and how conversations are followed up.

Where does Formula fit in this choice?

Formula is built for consultants, firms, agencies and B2B SMBs that want to hand prospect research and message personalization to an agent. Our approach comes down to three ingredients: the right place, the right time, the right message.

The right place. The agent searches autonomously among competitors and influencers, in the audiences and followers of personal profiles or company pages, and at events.

The right time. It relies on likes, comments and follows that show interest in a topic or a related offer. These signals help spot an opportunity to reach out; they are not a sure sign of buying intent.

The right message. The AI reads the prospect's whole profile to tailor the message to the information and needs it can identify. It must not invent what that person is going through or looking for.

To assess this approach, look at the prospects selected and the reasoning visible in the messages. You should be able to understand why these people match your offer and correct whatever does not fit.

Five questions to ask during your trial

  1. Why these prospects? Ask which information and which signals led to selecting them.
  2. What is each message based on? Find the information used and remove any assumption presented as a fact.
  3. What happens after a reply? Check who gets notified, who replies and which follow-ups stop.
  4. How do you stay in control? Test editing a message, pausing a campaign and handling an objection.
  5. What does this scope cost? Get the available features, the add-ons and the time needed on your side confirmed.

Keep the same criteria for every trial. The choice gets clearer when you compare observed actions and the work left to you, with the same offer and the same target.

Frequently asked questions

Should you pick a French vendor?

The vendor's nationality is not enough to decide. Check the quality of the French, the support available for your team, the data processing terms and the features you need. Ask for precise answers on these points during the trial.

Does an AI agent replace sales follow-up?

The scope varies from one product to another. Check what the agent takes on and at which point you step in. Preparing a message, getting a reply, booking a meeting and closing a sale are different steps; keep them separate in your evaluation.

How long is the Formula trial?

The free Formula trial lasts 3 days. Use it to review how prospects are selected, the quality of the messages and the features available. A trial lets you test how the product works; it does not guarantee a reply, a meeting or a sale.

Start with the task that takes up most of your time

Write down in one sentence what you want to delegate and what you want to keep. Then use that sentence to review an offer and ask for a precise demo.
