You have almost certainly used one of these three, or you are thinking about it. Waalaxy because the UX is clean. Lemlist because the brand is strong. La Growth Machine because it is powerful on multi-channel. None of them are bad. All three have very happy clients.
And yet, for the past 12 months, their average reply rates have been collapsing together. Not because of them. Because of a structural shift these tools do not address. Here is what it is, and what works instead.
What these three tools do well
Waalaxy is the reference for semi-automated LinkedIn prospecting. Multi-sequences, variables, Sales Navigator integration, clean dashboard. If you want to send 200 LinkedIn invitations per week without manually clicking, Waalaxy does the job.
Lemlist invented personalization at scale. Dynamic images with the prospect's name, personalized videos, multi-channel email + LinkedIn sequences. On pure B2B cold email, it is an industry standard.
La Growth Machine is the most powerful on multi-channel. Email + LinkedIn + Twitter in a single sequence with solid conditional logic. For growth teams who want fine-grained orchestration, it is the tool.
All three are mature, reliable, well-supported. These are not scams. These are excellent products.
The problem: they all solve a question that barely exists anymore
The question they solve: "How do I send more personalized messages in less time?"
That was the right question in 2022. It was no longer the right one in 2024. And it is outright the wrong question in 2026.
Why this shift? Three reasons:
- Inbox saturation. The average B2B prospect receives 47 cold messages per month on LinkedIn (vs 8 in 2022). They have learned to filter. Volume has become counterproductive.
- Algorithmic detection. LinkedIn deprioritizes messages detected as automated since 2024. Classic dynamic variables are recognized.
- Market shift. B2B buyers want to be found, not chased. The Brevo data (72% warm close rate vs 25% cold) confirms it.
What these tools don't tell you
Three things that tend to stay off the product pages.
1. The real reply rate has dropped 87% in 3 years
Waalaxy's own dashboard shows an average cold LinkedIn reply rate of 1.2% in 2025. It was 9.4% in 2022. Nobody is making headlines about this.
In practice: for 1 positive reply, you send 99 messages. If you want 5 replies per week, you send 500 messages. That is what Waalaxy lets you do - but it is also an enormous invisible workload to orchestrate.
2. The total cost exceeds the displayed subscription
Waalaxy at €39/month, Lemlist at €59, La Growth Machine at €89. That seems reasonable. Except those are never the real costs.
Typical true costs for a B2B solopreneur:
Raw total: ≈ €240/month in tools, plus 14 hours of your time. That is the equivalent of €1,700 to €2,000/month in full cost.
3. The learning curve is longer than advertised
"Set up in 5 minutes" reads the product page. The reality: 4 to 8 hours to configure your first working sequence, then 2-3 A/B test cycles over 6 weeks to reach a decent reply rate. You will burn 30 to 50% of your list during the learning phase.
Honest comparison table
| Formula. (AI agent) | Waalaxy / Lemlist / LGM | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | From $107/month | €39-89/month (+ enrichment + LinkedIn Sales Nav) |
| Setup | 30-min onboarding, calibrated by the agent | 4-8h + 6 weeks of A/B testing |
| Daily time | 3-5 min of swiping | 1-3h of management + manual follow-ups |
| Prospect identification | Continuous, intent signals | Static imported list |
| Message personalization | In the prospect's own tone | Dynamic variables + AI template |
| Follow-up logic | Based on observed signals | Fixed schedule (Day+3, Day+7…) |
| Pre-written reply | ✓ | ✗ |
| Calendar auto-booking | ✓ Automatic | ✗ Manual |
| Underlying logic | You stop prospecting | You prospect more efficiently |
When Waalaxy / Lemlist / LGM still make sense
Let us be honest: these tools are not obsolete for everyone.
- If you do pure volume. You sell at a low ticket (sub €500), and you need 200 contacts per day to sign 5 clients per month. The agent logic does not work below €1,000.
- If you have a structured sales team. You have SDRs doing full-time cold outreach, with established qualification processes. These tools remain best-in-class for orchestrating a team.
- If you do B2B event marketing. You have a qualified list of invitees to an event and want to sequence a multi-channel send over 2 weeks.
In all other cases, deal size above €1,500, solopreneur or small team, consultative B2B sales, the agent logic is more profitable.

How to switch without breaking everything
You do not need to stop everything overnight. The right order:
Weeks 1-2. Keep Waalaxy/Lemlist in reduced mode (volume halved). Launch Formula. in parallel to calibrate the agent on your offer.
Weeks 3-4. Compare the meetings obtained from each side. On inbound, Formula. should deliver 2 to 4 qualified meetings per week depending on your sector.
Weeks 5-6. Cut the classic tool. Reinvest the 14 freed hours into producing content and building your presence - this is what makes your agent even more effective.
Month 3+. You prospect 0 minutes per day. You swipe to validate. You close more, you close better, you live better.
